DXTEEN (Japanese: ディエックスティーン, Korean: 디엑스틴) is a Japanese boy group composed of six members under LAPONE Entertainment, which is a joint venture between CJ ENM and Yoshimoto Kogyo. Four of the members participated in PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON2 and were eliminated.

They are the first group under LAPONE Entertainment not formed as a result of the survival show PRODUCE 101 JAPAN. The group was formed on October 28, 2022, and they debuted on May 10, 2023, with their first single Brand New Day.

Pre-debut[]

On December 17, 2021, former PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON2 contestants Okubo Nalu, Terao Koshin, Hiramoto Ken and Fukuda Ayuta were revealed as trainees under LAPONE Entertainment. They were introduced as part of the trainee unit LAPONE BOYS.

On September 30, 2022, LAPONE BOYS announced that they would take a break from social media.[2] During this time, they formed DXTEEN.

2023: Formation and debut with Brand New Day[]

On February 13, LAPONE announced that they would be debuting a new group, DXTEEN. All the LAPONE BOYS members were introduced as members alongside Tanaka Shotaro and Taniguchi Taichi. Taniguchi was also introduced as the leader of the group. In addition, it was revealed that they would be releasing their debut single Brand New Day on May 10.[3][4] The group's official website and fanclub were opened the same day.[5]

On July 7, it was announced that the group would be releasing their second single First Flight on September 6.[6]

2024: Snowin', first tour, Quest, Level Up[]

On November 20, 2023, it was announced that they would be releasing their third single Snowin' on January 31.[7]

On January 18, it was announced that they would be holding their first tour "2024 DXTEEN 1ST ONE MAN LIVE TOUR ~START OF THE QUEST~" from May 18 to June 9.[8] On March 12, it was announced that they would holding an additional show for their tour on June 9.[9]

On April 8, it was announced that they would be releasing their 1st album Quest on July 17.[10]

On June 9, it was announced that they would be holding an additional two shows for their tour under the name "2024 DXTEEN 1ST ONE MAN LIVE TOUR ENCORE SHOW ーTHE QUEST ▶︎▶︎ REPLAYー" on October 3 and 6.[11]

On October 6, it was announced that they would be releasing their first digital single "Always", which was previously released as a bonus track on the limited editions of their 1st album, on October 28 to celebrate their 2nd formation anniversary.[12]

On September 25, it was announced that they would be releasing their fourth single Level Up on December 4.[13]

2025: "Good Vibes", Tick-Tack, "Change Over", Ryoukataomoi, "What's DXTEEN?"[]

On January 19, it was announced that they would be releasing their second digital single "Good Vibes" on January 21 as the theme song for the TV drama Saikou no Obahan Nakajima Haruko.[14]

On February 10, it was announced that they would be releasing their fifth single Tick-Tack on May 7.[15]

On June 15, it was announced that they would be releasing their third digital single "Change Over" on July 16 as the ending theme song for the TV anime Fermat's Cuisine.[16]

On June 26, it was announced that they would be holding their second fanmeeting 2025 DXTEEN SUMMER PARTY ~BOY MEETS LOVE in OSAKA~ on August 22.[17]

On July 7, it was announced that they would be releasing their sixth single, Ryoukataomoi, on September 24.[18]

On September 3, it was announced that the group's first TV show DXTEEN no Genkai Toppa TV will start airing from October 28.[19]

On December 10, it was announced that they would be releasing their fourth digital single "What's DXTEEN?" on December 23.[19]

2026: Heart Beat[]

On September 3, 2025, it was announced that they would be holding their first solo arena performance 2026 DXTEEN ARENA LIVE ~FULL OUT!~ on January 9.[19]

On December 15, 2025, it was announced that they would be releasing their second album Heart Beat on March 25.[20]

On January 9, it was announced that they would be holding their second tour 2026 DXTEEN 2ND ONE MAN LIVE TOUR from April 26 to May 9.[21]

Group Name Meaning[]

DXTEEN stands for "DREAM X TEEN". According to their official website, the name of DXTEEN "aims for a dream (Dream) and grows step by step while expanding (eXtention) and expanding (eXpand). It expresses the 'infinite possibilities' of six teens who are working hard and challenging, and it means that they will not lose their youthful spirit and dream even bigger as time passes and they grow up".
